To Tan or Not To Tan

To Tan or Not To Tan...and which products to use

Having had half a year of poor weather and being rather uncertain of the 'summer' we have ahead of us, i have started to apply a gradual tan in order to give me that summer glow.
I have experimented with many gradual tans in the past, some have given terrible results and others have given my skin a very realistic, natural looking tan and this is what i think puts a lot of people off trying a new tanning product, the unknown results and the possibility of being left with streaky looking skin.

In my research for a reliable tanning product, i have in fact found that the best are not always the most expensive, yes St Tropez does have great reviews and similarly does Fake Bake but their prices reflect the brand and not necessarily the internal product.

I have recently been introduced to SiennaX by a good friend of mine @thebeautyroom_ http://www.jrpbeauty.com/ who highly recommended the product through her own experience.
I received a bottle of the SiennaX 'gradual glowing self tan' in a goody bag after the Tresor Paris charity event i attended in May http://amynities.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/tresor-paris-charity-event.html
I used the product for the first time last week as i had a wedding reception to attend. I applied the tan all over my body on the evening before the day of the event, it says it takes 6-8 hours to develop, i woke up in the morning to find a subtle change to the colour of my skin and was slightly disappointed, however throughout the day the tan gradually got darker, even after i'd had my morning shower this did not affect the tan at all. I went out that evening with a great looking tan and was really pleased with the results.
In trying to keep the temporary tan looking natural and healthy, i applied another layer of the tan the next day and moisturised everyday after, the tan did gradually fade which is expectable, but did not leave me with patchy looking skin, which is what often happens when gradual tan fades. If any tan was to be left on the skin i would recommend using exfoliating gloves to remove.
In conclusion SiennaX is a great gradual tan and retails at around £16.50 for 200ml. Sienna also offer Spray tans, further information is available through their website http://sienna-x.co.uk/.
